Singer, guitar. Born Hazlehurst, Miss., May 8, 1911 and died Greenwood, Miss., August 16, 1938 . Little is known of this brilliant singer and guitar player except for the fact that he started recording less than 2 years before he was murdered. He led a violent life in which women must have played a very important role and his irregular life caused him to have many ennemies. Robert was a great specialist of the rural blues style and must be considered as one of the real giants. His guitar playing was very typical and his voice warm and pleasant. His songs are real poems and most of them reflect partly some of his life experiences.
