Gracias, de nuevo, por la magia y por su visita.
Este dibujo es un alarde de imaginación a tres bandas, como el aquel billar de Ezequiel y Juan Navarra.
Una breve investigación me dice que Fat and Forty fue grabada por Al Hibbler en dos oportunidades; en Los Angeles en 1946, efectivamente Aladdin 146, pero acompañado por los Tab Smith All Stars, De éste grupo sólo se identifica al liter en saxo alto y al cantante.
Sin embargo en New York, 1947 Al Hibbler (vcl) grabó nuevamente Fat and Forty acompañado de Ray Nance (tp) Jimmy Hamilton (cl) A1 Sears (ts) Harry Carney (bar) Billy Strayhorn (p) A1 Raglin (b) Fletcher Jackson (d) y editado en Chess 1569, CHV412, Argo LP601, Bellaphon (G)4030, P-Vine (Jap)

Es casi seguro que ésta última sea la real grabación en la que vos Oscar detectás con fino oído a Strayhorn.

Always love this AL HIBBLER number. It's a pity he did so little of this kind of barrelhouse stuff...I guess he had his reasons.
He lived to a great age and there is a memorable snatch of footage of him - from the early 60's - facing down Bull Connor's cops and dogs.
