Genio olvidado Phineas Newborn... Tratá de oir toda la selección pero si andás apurado pasá directamente al tema a los 12:48 (Blues for the left hand only [*])
Neglected genius Phineas Newborn... Listen all of it by all means but if you are in a hurry go straight to the theme at 12:48 (Blues for the left hand only [*])

Música: (video)
Phineas Newborn Jr. Trio
from TV Show Jazz Scene USA 1962

Phineas Newborn Jr. Trio:  Phineas Newborn, Jr. (p) Al McKibbon (b) Kenny Dennis (d).

[*] This tune is the very well known "Vierd blues" a.k.a. "Trane's blues". Miles Davis appropriated it in 1956’s album “Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet”, but the real composer was John Coltrane that had recorded it in March 1956 three months earlier in an album of Paul Chambers ("High steps"). On this Chamber's album, the name of that song was "John Paul Jones" just the pseudonym that Coltrane (or the recording label) used for the artists credits in that soundtrack. It’s odd here why the host (or the player) does not recognize the actual title of the song.
