El solo de trompeta (corneta?) inspirado en Bix que tocan antes del solo de alto es una belleza!

Unfortunately i have to admit that i' m not at all familiar with Dreyer's work- but the drawing is beautiful: these lovely, sad eyes...

Carl Theodor Dreyer was a proto-Ingmar Bergman Danish film director. I reccomend you saw "Dies Irae" or "Ordet" (The Verb). Superb movies about belief and the need for miracles.
In 1928 he made "The Passion of Joan D'Arc" with Maria Falconeti, even Antonin Artaud is there. The film was entirely shot in close ups. A masterpiece. There are snippets of it in youtube.

Muchas gracias, Oscar, your reference to the close ups reminded me of the film, it is the only one of D. i had the chance to watch- a long time ago. A masterpiece indeed.
