The label may say "All The Things You Are" but this is not the tune by Jerome Kern that we all know.

No way.

Mel, Man!!...You are what Borges called "The police of small distractions"...In reality it could also sound like "I Can't Get Started"...But you must admit that Bird playing around the chords of "Embraceable You" departs quite far away from the theme.

Este tema se llama "Three O'Clock In The Morning y es un dúo de Oscar Peterson y Ray Brown. Grabado para Clef/Mercury en marzo de 1950 (45rpm 8923). Del otro lado del disco está "All The Things You Are", que no es precisamente el tema que estamos escuchando.

Oscar,

Bird may have got far away from the theme, yes, but never away from the harmony (changes or chord sequence).

That was only done a few years after he died by the likes of Ornette et al. And I don't think either Parker or Ornette would have given the estate of Jerome Kern the opportunity to earn a few cents for roylaties from something that was not his composition.

Therefore somebody goofed here and I learned long ago not to trust record labels.
